What is Acupuncture?
acupuncture is an ancient form of care that focuses on energy called "qi"
that flows through out the body and over its surface. it promotes natural healing and restores the body's natural balance. The "qi" can be manipulated using the insertion of needles.
How Does it Work?
The qi flows in channels, called meridians, that travel over and through the body and allows the qi to nourish the organs and tissues of the body. Pain and sickness arise when the meridians become blocked or the qi becomes out of balance. Acupuncture restores the balance of qi and unblocks the meridians using the insertion and stimulation of needles. Acupuncture enhances the body's immune system and has an extreme reulatory effect.
Subsequently, acupuncture can be very effective in treating autoimmune disorders, gynecological, internal medicince, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Many people are afraid of needles. The truth of the matter is that acupuncture needles are extremely thin and can be compared to the thickness of a single hair. Often times, patients do not even feel the insertion of the needles. Sometimes the insertion feels like a littel pinch. After the needle is inserted, the patient may feel a sensation like pressure or heaviness. Many people find acupuncture very relaxing and may fall asleep during care.
Is Acupuncture Safe?
Acupuncture is a very safe when administered by a qualified practitioner.
The needles that are used are disposable, single use, and sterile. They are used only one time and discarded as medical biohazardous waste.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
the number of treatments that are necessary differs for each patient and each condition that is being treated. Acute conditions may be resolved in only a few treatments. long standing chronic conditions may take several treatments to notice improvements.
